As the iconic Mustang approaches its 60th anniversary, Ford is infusing a modern and lively essence into the beloved California Special®.Mustang Brand Manager Joe Bellino emphasizes the inspiration from California's optimistic and carefree driving culture for the 2024 Mustang GT California Special. "We're refocusing on those elements to bring a vibrant style that seamlessly fits both Colorado Boulevard and the Pacific Coast Highway," Bellino states. The unique Rave Blue color plays a key role, making the California Special distinct not only from other Mustang models but also from its predecessors.
The California Special package boasts eye-catching Rave Blue details, adorning the nostril intakes and a new horizontal-slat grille with low gloss black strakes. Black bezels surround the headlights, while Mustang GT California Special-specific graphics in Medium Light Rave Blue and High- and Low-Gloss Black enhance the lower body sides.

Two 19.0-inch wheel options are available for the California Special package. The standard Carbonized Gray wheels feature a GT/CS pad-printed logo in Rave Blue, while the optional Performance Pack wheel combines a machined face with Rave Blue pockets. Rave Blue outlines on the 5.0-liter engine badge and GT badge add flair, and a Performance Pack-specific badge complements the GT/CS badge in the grille, both finished in Rave Blue.
Inside, the California Special package showcases blue accents, with Navy Pier upholstery and Ebony Black leather covering the seats. Dual-color contrast stitching in Raptor Blue and Metal Gray extends to the dash, doors, steering wheel, and center console. Additional interior changes include a California Special IP badge and GT/CS floor mats.

The California Special package is an optional $1,995 enhancement for the Ford Mustang GT Premium, available in Coupe and Convertible body styles with either a six-speed manual gearbox or the optional 10-speed automatic transmission.
