The Ranger Raptor is built on a solid foundation with reinforcements at the front frame rails, A-braces, rear shock mounts, suspension mounting points and other key areas, allowing the Ranger Raptor to handle the toughest off-road conditions.The FOX™ Live Valve internal bypass system varies damping performance based on how the Ranger Raptor is driven.The modes available are Normal,Tow/Haul, Sport, Slippery, Off-Road, Rock Crawl and Baja, all designed to provide enhanced on-road comfort, control off-road, high and low speed capability and ride quality. Each selectable driving mode adjusts settings for the engine, transmission, ABS calibration, traction control, steering, throttle response, and even the appearance and information of the dashboard, gauges, and touchscreen. The active valve exhaust system can also be set to multiple modes, including Quiet, Normal, Sport and Baja settings. The Ranger Raptor also features Trail Control™, which allows the driver to negotiate tricky spots while the truck controls the throttle and brakes. The engine features a cast graphite cylinder block and features an anti-turbo lag racing system that allows on-demand boosting in Baja mode. It keeps the turbochargers running for up to three seconds after the driver releases the accelerator pedal, ensuring acceleration out of corners.Bolted to this EcoBoost engine is a class-exclusive 10-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission that works in conjunction with an advanced all-wheel drive system with a new electronically controlled two-speed transfer case combined with front and rear differential locks.Every Ranger Raptor design element has a purpose. Confident, modern design begins with LED headlights that light up the night, surrounded by signature C-bracket lighting. Extended fenders with functional air vents accommodate 33-inch BFGoodrich® KO3® off-road tires on 17-inch wheels that mount to optional beadlock wheels with available beadlocks, allowing for ultra-low tire driving sandy and rocky conditions. The Ranger Raptor also has a robust skid plate.The thick front pressure plate is made of high-strength steel and is complemented by special covers for the engine, transfer case and fuel tank. Designed with performance in mind, the Raptor's cockpit features a sports steering wheel with cast magnesium paddle shifters for quick transmission control and the Raptor's signature Code Orange center marker.
