The brand with the Scorpion badge is introducing the new Abarth 595 range, which embodies the evolution of their most iconic model. Advanced engineering and care for details in a model capable of boldly expressing the two personalities of the brand - performance and style. The four versions of the new 595 range are compact, light, agile and importantly all unparalleled in terms of customisation. The 595 is a successful range that today presents new strengths sure to capture the trademark nuances of the Abarth character.
Hatchback or convertible, the new 595 range features five versions (595, 595 Pista, 595 Turismo, 595 Competizione and 695 Rivale) with power levels from 145 to 180 HP, all Euro 6D-TEMP compliant, to satisfy all customer needs.
From the technical and performance point of view, peculiarly on the 595 Competizione and the 595 Pista, the main new feature is the new Record Monza Attivo exhaust, now standard on both versions and today equipped with an active valve controlled by a Sport button. Pressing the Sport button opens the exhaust valve and the engine rumble becomes deeper and bolder. The driver can choose a gentleman driver engine sound or a tougher, sportier - and more traditionally Abarth - roar.
While the 595 Competizione is somewhat more radical and designed for performance and no-compromise sports car fans, the 595 Turismo hints to the style and comfort typical of Italian GTs. There is plenty of focus on details, with premium leather interiors and Urban Pack that comes with light sensor, rain sensor and parking sensors.
Distinctive yet affordable, the 595 is Abarth's entry-level model. It offers all the standard equipment needed to secure the thrilling driving pleasures typical of the creations of the brand with the Scorpion brand. For instance, the 595 has a flat-bottom steering wheel with a crosshairs insert in the middle, and a Sport button which, in this case, adjusts maximum torque output and the power steering and accelerator pedal settings. The braking system is specific to Abarth and ensures top-notch safety by fitting ventilated 284 mm discs on the front and 240 mm discs on the rear. The 595 Pista is the special series kitted out with plenty of performance-oriented equipment, such as Abarth Telemetry to monitor performance at all times and Koni rear suspension with Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) technology to optimise the driving experience ensuring superior road-holding, handling and stability, in total safety.
One range, two personalities - performance and style
All the models in the Abarth 595 line-up have special features picked to reassert their sporty nature and boost performance. For instance, the front end was redesigned with a much larger air scoop to improve heat management in the engine compartment and increase cooling capacity by 18%. So, performance and smooth engine delivery are increased, even in the case of more extreme racing tune-ups. The extractor is quite pronounced on the rear bumper. To enhance its looks, specific bumper inserts have also been created for each trim level. They are matte black on the 595, in matching body colour on the 595 Turismo and with the Tar Cold Grey finish on the 595 Competizione. All models have polyelliptical headlights and LED daytime running lights as standard equipment. Xenon headlights, on the other hand, are available on request. The new flat-bottomed steering wheel with crosshairs insert, was designed to guarantee effective and sporty driving. In particular, the standard steering wheel, as well as other striking interior details, on the Competizione version is made of technical materials, such as carbon and Alcantara®. The dashboard trim, which has always been one of the most iconic elements of the 595, is customised for each version. It is body colour on the 595, matte grey on the 595 Turismo and Tar Cold Grey on the 595 Competizione. The instrument panel is sporty and readability is excellent. The turbo charger pressure gauge lighting is now white, making it easier to read.
Abarth 595 Competizione
Abarth 595 Competizione is the pinnacle of performance. It delivers 180 HP, fits the new Record Monza Attivo exhaust, and is the only car in its segment that can be equipped with mechanical self-locking differential (Abarth D.A.M.) on demand. This exclusive technical feature is derived directly from the experience gained on the 695 Biposto. Abarth D.A.M. exploits the full potential of the car and improves the traction in fast driving conditions. The mechanical self-locking differential ensures adequate torque transfer between the front wheels when either has less grip (a typical example is the different speed coming out of curves taken with high lateral load). Equipped in this way, the car can follow the line with even greater precision, improving the driving efficiency on the track.
The 595 Competizione is equipped with comfortable and supporting shell-shaped "Abarth Corsa by Sabelt" seats. Accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds will be a pleasure and safe braking is secured by oversized Brembo system with 4-piston aluminium monobloc fixed callipers - standard in red, optional in grey, black or yellow - paired with self-ventilating, perforated 305 mm discs. The road-holding, handling and stability abilities guaranteed by Koni FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) shock absorbers (standard on both front and rear) is enhanced between the curbs of a track and on hairpin bends alike.
The Sport button can be used to adjust various parameters of the car, such as torque delivery and power steering calibration, for a more direct feel and a less invasive intervention of the electronics, as well as managing the Record Monza exhaust. Furthermore, the system adjusts engine response to the accelerator pedal and the TFT instrument panel switches to racing configuration, in the best Abarth style. Technical contents are reasserted also in the looks. The special new "Adrenalina Green" livery can be paired with a black roof to reassert the sports vocation of the car. Red or yellow seat belts for an authentic racing touch are available on demand. Orders for the front carbon fibre splitter will open in November.
Abarth 595 Turismo
Abarth 595 Turismo is designed for drivers who want comfort and style in a high-performance car. Under the bonnet, the engine delivers 165 HP, offering a weight-to-power ratio of 6.3 kg/HP and securing acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. Inside, it features attractive and expertly crafted Abarth leather upholstery, the perfect complement for the elegant style of 595 Turismo.
The colour of the seats is picked up on the door panels.
Furthermore, to meet the needs of customers seeking practicality and safety, the new Urban Pack includes parking sensors, rain sensor and dusk sensor designed to make it easier and more comfortable to drive every day.
The exclusive Asfalto Grey matte livery reasserts the style and particularly cool nature of the 595 Turismo. Advanced, technical carbon fibre front splitter and carbon mirror caps are available on demand. There is no shortage of key technical features worth mentioning, such as the Koni FSD shock absorbers on the rear and the 17-inch Granturismo light alloy wheels with increased ventilating surface to guarantee better heat dissipation and improved, more constant braking system performance as a consequence. Other peculiarities of the Abarth 595 Turismo include satin chrome trim and mirror caps. The rear side windows are tinted for an additional touch of style. All these elements emphasise the sportiness of the 595 Tourism and contribute to securing a top-notch driving experience in the typically Italian Granturismo tradition. A balanced set-up capable of combining sportiness and luxury in the best way.
Abarth 595 Pista
The performance-oriented 595 Pista 160 HP is aimed at younger drivers and offers a wide range of customisation options. Like the Competizione, the 595 Pista is also equipped with the new iconic Record Monza Attivo exhaust as standard equipment to pay tribute to its racing personality. It comes with Apple CarPlay and Google Android AutoTM and UconnectTM 7", a fast platform equipped with a high-def screen, navigator and DAB digital radio. It is complete with Abarth Telemetry, an integrated system that measures performance each of one of the circuits loaded on the system to analyse lap times, study driving technique and learn how to improve it. It is also customisable, offering the possibility to record new tracks and store them for later retrieval to compare performance. With the preloaded points of interest (Officine Abarth and other significant places for the brand) each owner can now collect special badges. Of course, results and progress can be shared on the social pages.
Abarth 595
The Abarth 595 has been the real icon of the brand for fifty-five years, since the Sixties when was immediately successful as a result of its extraordinary performance, unusual for such a small car. When telling his life story, Carlo Abarth used to say that "engines, cars, races, automotive passion and speed" were like "a disease, a wonderful madness that turned us into enthusiasts seeking to go faster, with ever perfected mechanics." These words are part of Abarth's manifesto still today and show how seeking performance is a genuine lifestyle, even more than a passion. Abarth 595 is the affordable model that invites drivers to embrace the tune-up concept and get behind the wheel of a car offering exhilarating performance and unmistakable style. Features such as front end with oversized air scoop, pronounced extractor on the rear bumper, 16-inch alloy wheels and racing dashboard complement the look and promise the great emotions that are secured by the 1.4 T-jet 145 HP engine.
Abarth 695 Rivale
Abarth 695 Rivale is the special edition designed in partnership with Riva, the iconic world-famous Italian yacht builder. It is the most sophisticated of all Abarth creations and the perfect blend of elegance and performance.
Premium materials and supercar performance: this is the combination that makes the 695 Rivale unique.
Available in two body versions - hatchback and convertible -, the Abarth 695 Rivale stand out for its exclusive livery, like the two-tone Riva Evening Blue and Shark Grey paintwork, with the delightful touch of two aquamarine stripes running around the waistrail which is reminiscent of the "beauty line" drawn on a yacht hull. The aim of the 695 Rivale is to go beyond the traditional values of Abarth by embracing the unique allure of Riva, to satisfy the demand for thrilling performances secured by a power 1.4 T-jet engine delivering 180 HP paired with luxury-class elegance and refinement. Its style is inspired by the Riva "56 Rivale" open, one of the most elegant, fastest yachts the Sarnico yard has ever built.
Inside, the car welcomes occupants with a warm mahogany dashboard of clear nautical inspiration. Wood - the most natural of materials - meets state-of-the-art technology for a result of absolute excellence, just like on Riva yachts. In addition to the dashboard fascia with maple inlays, the mahogany variant (optional) includes a special blue and black leather steering wheel with mahogany hub, blue leather instrument panel upholstery and mahogany gear knob and kick plate. These unique characteristics make Abarth 695 Rivale an instant classic, absolutely worthy of a place on the elite Abarth Register, which only includes the most exclusive cars with collectable technical or historic features.
New Record Monza Attivo exhaust
From the point of view of performance, the most exciting new feature is the new Record Monza exhaust.
The most recent development debuting on the new 595 range is the active valve controlled by a Sport button on the dashboard. The opening of the exhaust valve was previously based on exhaust gas pressure but today can be actively controlled and the driver can choose either a gentleman driver engine sound or a bolder, sportier - more traditionally Abarth - rumble. The new Record Monza Attivo exhaust is standard on 595 Competizione and 595 Pista and its powerful, aggressive roar is the result of a perfect combination of technology and design. In addition, the adoption of the new Record Monza Attivo exhaust also contributes to achieving a further objective and today the Abarth 595 range complies with the Euro 6D-TEMP anti-pollution regulations.
This technical feature is in the wake of the most authentic Abarth tradition that upholds the enduring work of the genuine engineering genius who was Carlo Abarth. Carlo Abarth, born in Vienna in 1908, originated an unprecedented success in the field of motor racing, resulting from his total dedication to motors and his truly prodigious talent, enthusiasm and ingenuity. In 1949, after having reaped many wins in motorcycle racing, he founded Abarth & C. and had the brilliant intuition to complement racing activities with products intended for the general public. He started making his famous tune-up kits for mass production cars to increase their power, top speed and acceleration. The trademark component of the kits were the exhaust systems which, over the years, become a true icon of the Abarth style. Capitalising on the experience gained years before with motorbikes, Abarth exhaust systems have always been technological masterpieces. The first prototypes had a central pipe with a continuous section and side sections made glass fibre. The diaphragms were removed to minimise gas compression. The simple yet innovative system has a clear advantage in terms of performance and an unmistakeable full, deep rumble.
Since it was introduced, the Record Monza exhaust system celebrated the quarter mile acceleration record set by Carlo Abarth on the historic Italian circuit in 1965, at the age of 57.
Engines and transmission
The new Abarth 595 range is equipped with a 1.4 T-jet engine, available in four power levels. The Abarth 595 unleashes 145 HP, with are upped to 160 on the Pista 160 and to 165 on the Abarth 595 Turismo. Finally, the 595 Competizione with its 180 HP is the ideal car for customers seeking racing adrenaline, both in terms of performance and technical content. All engines are Euro 6D-TEMP compliant. As standard, all variants of the 1.4 T-jet engine are paired with a mechanical five-speed gearbox but they can be fitted with an Abarth robotised sequential gearbox with shift paddles as well.
Infotainment
The 595, the 595 Competizione and the 595 Turismo are all equipped with UconnectTM 5" Radio with touchscreen and Uconnect Live services as standard equipment (also with built-in navigator and DAB on request). UconnectTM 7" HD, standard on the 595 Pista, is a fast platform complete with high-def screen, navigation and DAB digital radio.

Finally, the advanced and powerful BeatsAudioTM system with seven speakers is being introduced and will certainly win over even the most demanding music lovers. Developed in collaboration with Beats by Dr. Dre, the BeatsAudioTM system boasts an impressive total output of 480 watts and features a digital eight-channel amplifier integrating an advanced equalisation algorithm capable of recreating the entire sound spectrum that an artist experiences during studio recording.
The Beats AudioTM sound system has two dome tweeters installed in the front pillars, two 165 mm midwoofers in the front doors, two full-range 165 mm speakers in the rear side panels and one 200 mm subwoofer in the middle of the boot in the spare wheel compartment.
